Instant virtualization, screenshot backup verification, and file level recovery make it easy to recover everything from a single message or document to entire document folders, mailboxes or servers. Incremental backups occur on the local device as frequently as every five minutes and are continuously sent to the cloud to ensure your backup remains up-to-date. All of these continuity functions can be easily managed from Datto’s central web-based interface.

The Datto CloudTM
Owned and operated by Datto, the Datto Cloud provides secure data backup of all Datto devices. Data stored on local Datto devices is replicated to Datto’s redundant bi-coastal SSAE16 certified data centers and any failed system can be virtualized instantly off-site. All Datto devices perform continuous encrypted incremental backups to the Datto Cloud. Data is stored in multiple redundant cluster nodes at each data center. Each data center is served by multiple redundant fiber connections to the Internet. Power is supplemented with both battery backup and N+1 diesel generation capabilities. Datto’s data centers use global biometric authentication access methodology to track all authenticated data center personnel and prohibit the entry of any unauthorized persons. The data centers are staffed 24/7 and cannot be accessed by the public. Remote critical facilities management teams monitor, report, and record all access and activity to ensure the most comprehensive security possible.

Data Security
All Datto devices use advanced encryption technology to keep data secure at all times. During both transmit and storage, data is fully encrypted using AES 256 and SSL key-based encryption. This powerful encryption ensures data cannot be accessed. In addition to all information being stored in an encrypted state, data stored in Datto’s off-site data centers is fully protected at all times.
Datto follows strict security protocol and customer data stored off-site is cryptographically inaccessible to Datto employees. Should a device ever be lost or stolen Datto has the ability to remotely wipe all data stored on the device and collect critical information about the location of the device which can be given to law enforcement.
Data Integrity
Built on the rock solid Unix based ZFS based file system, Datto’s systems utilize a file structure generations ahead of others to ensure your data integrity is never compromised. ZFS has built in logic that puts data integrity above everything. Its de-duplication and compression technologies ensure the most efficient means of storing data and the most optimal way to backup data to the cloud. Cutting edge data compression technology reduces the bandwidth required to transfer files off site as well as saving space on the local device.
Custom Data Retention Settings
A flexible retention policy allows you to choose what files you want to delete to make space at any point in time. Since data recovery does not rely on a backup chain, recovery points can be removed at anytime with no affect on the remaining device data.
Quick Data Restoration
When a customer’s local data is lost or destroyed, Datto can recover all data off-site and quickly deliver to the end customer. FTP + SSL access provides continuous secure access anytime to all data stored at Datto’s off-site data centers. If a Bare Metal restore is required, Datto Support can walk through the process.
Unlimited Backup of Servers and Workstations
Datto devices can backup an unlimited number of servers and workstation off-site using Datto’s proprietary backup system. Multiple copies of data off-site ensure that no matter the situation, data is always available and can be recovered in the event of an extended outage or onsite disaster.
Auto Updating
All Datto appliances regularly download and install software updates in the background ensuring that every device is always running the latest version of Datto’s software and benefit from the continual software enhancements.
Broad Operating System Support
Datto devices support the widest array of operating systems of any Backup Disaster Recovery Product on the market. With support for Windows 2000, XP, 2003, Vista, 2008 Windows 7, Datto SIRIS and SIRIS Lite products supports almost any windows system in production today. These devices also support backups using Apple TimeMachine and includes support for common Linux installations like RedHat, Cent, Debian and Ubuntu.
Industry Compatibility
Datto’s devices are capable of exporting to powerful, portable, and industry-standard VM formats, including VMDK (VMware) and VHD (Hyper V). This amazing technology means any export from a Datto device can run on systems that support these formats.
Network Friendly
All Datto devices are configured with multiple gigabit network interfaces that are autocrossover. Datto chooses name brand network adapters to ensure high reliability.
